Study abroad coordinators usually work with universities or agencies and advise students on study abroad options based on students’ interests and degrees. Coordinators develop study abroad programs and both recruit and prepare students to live and study in another country. The position is often administrative, with tasks related to program and project management. While there is no standard educational background for a study abroad coordinator, a bachelors degree is usually required. A masters degree in an area such as international education is increasingly preferred. The ability to speak a English language is essential.Study abroad coordinators should have strong written and oral communication skills and enjoy working with a variety of people
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in a higher education environment.
• Experience in public speaking and presenting information to large and small groups.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office
